Denon AVR-X6800H Supports DIRAC Live & is Roon Tested: CEDIA 2023

Denon’s extensive AVR product lineup added a new model at 2023 CEDIA EXPO with the new AVR-X6800H that will be available in 2024.

The AVR-X6800H

The AVR-X6800H (AVC-X6800H outside the U.S.) is positioned between Denon’s flagship A1H and the rest of their current X-series receiver line.

Full specifications haven’t been announced yet, but here is a summary of what has been officially provided so far as well as some likely features based on Denon’s other similar AVRs.

Denon AVR-X6800H Inside View

Tip: When used in AV preamp/processor mode, the X6800H provides up to 13.4 channels of audio processing.

Denon AVR-X6800H Remote Control

Control: Wireless IR remote included

Smartphone App Control: iOS, Android

Additional Control Options: 12-volt trigger (2), wired remote sensor (in/out), RS232C, IP Control

Room Correction: Audyssey Room Correction Built-in which includes MultEQ, Dynamic EQ, and Dynamic Volume

Tip: The AVR-X6800H supports Dirac Live room correction via a firmware update.  Dirac Live allows users to fine-tune speakers connected to a receiver to more accurately match the acoustic environment of the room they are placed in, providing a more well-rounded music listening experience with better accuracy, larger sweet spot, more precise voice intelligibility, as well as deeper, but less boomy bass. Dirac Live is designed to provide more precision than Audyssey and other room correction systems.

Hi-Res Audio:  Support for 24-bit/192kHz audio playback. Digital audio format support includes MP3, WMA, WAV, MPEG-4/AAC, FLAC, and ALAC

Wireless connectivity: Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, Wi-Fi (Wired Ethernet is also included if needed). HEOS multiroom wireless streaming is also supported.

Tip: Although not mentioned in preliminary information, Roon Tested certification is included with select AVRs below (AVR-X series) and above (1AH) so barring any new licensing issues, the same probably holds for the AVR-X6800H.
